Feel free to email us at Train@GQDojo.com with any questions not answered here. (These answers are current as of late 2018.)

With such safe training, will it really work for self-defense?

History shows that students have successfully defended themselves many, many times over the past 30 years using Guardian Martial Arts skills. To be effective, expect to attend classes regularly, practice for at least one minute per day, and practice every-single-thing-every-single-month. Also keep in mind that effective self-defense requires that your skills match an attacker's attack. You need Karate for Karate situations, Jujutsu for Jujutsu situations, and Kobujutsu for Kobujutsu situations. The best path is to train toward black belt in all three.

How much are lessons?

The basic cost is $100 per month. If you do two programs, it's $160. Three or four is $200.

Kid Class memberships are $100 per month. For children only able to train one day per week, we provide a discount to $60 per month.

FAMILY DISCOUNT: After the first member of the household, additional family members are at 50% the usual cost.

Where can we get copies of the books mentioned?

The dojo usually keeps a ready stock of The Ohana Way Report and The Princess Is A Knight, and often has a few copies of the rest of the books. Otherwise, they can be found on Amazon.com (Click Here).

How long does it take to earn a Black Belt?

To earn a Black Belt takes consistent class attendance, consistent repetition of every-single-thing-every-single-month, and consistent daily one-minute  (or more) of practice. Doing that, most people are able to earn a Black Belt in Karate, Jujutsu, and/or Kobujutsu in 4-6 years.

Earning a Black Belt in Guardian Kempo is more involved process that can take anywhere from 6-10 years (or more). The process or even starting the Guardian Kempo rank program is somewhat involved. You must first train in Karate, Jujutsu, and Kobujutsu (which you can do all at once).
